SL Cops - Useful Tips - Read & Remember for your protection

Sri Lankan Cops - Useful Tips

1. A single Cop, CANNOT stop you on the road !

(it's prohibited and you are not suppose to Stop either !) 

2. A single cop CANNOT seize your driving license ! 

3. Only a 'traffic control' cop has the authority to request

anything MORE than your NIC when you are behind wheels. 

4. A single traffic cop NEVER can press charges against you.

HE MUST HAVE A WITNESS IF DOES SO. 

5. That's why you always find 'two' cops together 

6. Police is a peace controlling force.  NOT AN ARMED FORCE !!!

They are prohibited by LAW to carry anything more than a BATON !

(but due to the prevailing WAR, they are issued Guns by a supreme

court ruling,till the war ENDS) 

7. So, if a Cop pulls a gun on you, YOU CAN sue him !!! 

8. If a COP claims that you are drunk, you have the FULL right

to ask for a 'balloon test', if they DO NOT HAVE it in

their possession on the time of your request, you can GO. 

9. Only Traffic Cops have the RIGHT to stop any moving

vehicle. (that's why you find at least 1 normal cop in

every checkpoint even though they are manned by Army) 

10. COPS, CANNOT ENTER YOUR HOME OR WORK 

PREMISES without a    court Order. You have the

FULLEST right ASK for it, if they try to enter and

also DENY their entrance if you 'feel' like it. 

11. A traffic cop CANNOT seize your driving license UNTIL he

 fully states the crime you have committed and the relating

penal code violation. If he is unsuccessful in stating

them, you can go free 

12. If a traffic cop seizes your license by force and ask you

to come to the police station to collect it. DO NOT GO !

Lodge a complain directly to Police commission or the

 'Provincial IGP', YOU can get the cop SACKED for his

misconduct and unruly behaviour. 

13. (for girls), If a COP asks for your Identifications and

(if you think he's doing it on purpose to harass you)

you CAN deny his request. He cannot arrest you ! you have the RIGHT to request for a Female Police officer. 

14. (for Girls) If you are asked to be Body checked, it's your

right to get it done by a female cop. If they don't have

one in present, DENY their action.

I begin to sing of Pallas Athene,

From his awful head wise Zeus himself bare her arrayed in warlike arms of flashing gold,
and awe seized all the gods as they gazed.
But Athena sprang quickly from the immortal head and stood before Zeus who holds the aegis,
shaking a sharp spear:
great Olympus began to reel horribly at the might of the bright-eyed goddess,
and earth round about cried fearfully,
and the sea was moved and tossed with dark waves,
while foam burst forth suddenly:
the bright Son of Hyperion stopped his swift-footed horses a long while,
until the maiden Pallas Athene had stripped the heavenly armour from her immortal shoulders.
And wise Zeus was glad.
And so hail to you, daughter of Zeus who holds the aegis!

THINK

There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always
there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I will marry you.'

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend.

He asked her, 'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?' The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him.

Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.'

This is how the human brain often works when our status changes.
Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.

before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.

you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat..

you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to GOD for a companion.

before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven..

And when
you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.

වීදුරුව බිමින් තියන්න

වතුර ස්වල්පයක් පිරවූ වීදුරුවක් තම අත මත තබා ගත් මහාචාර්යය වරයා තම දේශනය ආරම්භ කළේය.
සියල්ලන්ටම පෙනෙන ලෙස එය ඔසවා ගත් ඔහු මෙසේ ඇසීය.

“මේක කොච්චර විතර බර ඇද්ද?”

“ග්‍රෑම් 50ක්”; “ග්‍රෑම් 100 ක්”; “ග්‍රෑම් 125 ක්” ලෙස සිසුන් පිළිතුරු දෙන ලදී.

“මම හරියටම දන්නේ නැහැ. මම බර කිරන්න ඕනා. ඒත් මට හරියටම දැනගන්න ඕනා මේක මම මිනිත්තු කීපයක් මෙහෙම තියාගත්තොත් මොනා වෙයිද කියලයි.”
මහාචාර්යය වරයා නැවතත් විමසීය.

“මුකුත් වෙන එකක් නැහැ” සිසුන් පිළිතුරු දිනි.

“හොඳයි එහෙනම් මම මේක පැයක් විතර තියන් උන්නොත්?”

“ඔබගේ අත කකියන්න පටන් ගනියි” සිසුන් නැවතත් පිළිතුරු දිනි.

“ඔබ හරි. එතකොට මම දවසක් විතර තියන් උන්නොත්?” මහචාර්යයවරයා නැවතත් විමසීය.

“ඔබේ අත හිරි වැටිලා දරුණු ආතතියකට මුහුණ දීලා අංශබාගය හැදෙයි.”
“අනිවා රෝහලෙන් මෙහා නවතින එකක් නැහැ” කටකාර සිසුවෙක් පැවසූ විට සියළු දෙනා සිනාසුනි.

හරිම හොඳයි. එතකොට මේ හැම වෙලාවකම වීදුරුවේ බර වෙනස් වුනාද?
“නැහැ” සිසුන් පිළිතුරු දිනි.

“එහෙනම් අතේ කැක්කුමට හා ආතතියට හේතු වුණේ මොකක්ද? ”
සිසුන් ගොලුවිය. එක් සිසුවෙක් හඬගා මෙසේ කීය.

“වීදුරුව බිමින් තියන්න”

“හරියටම හරි. ජීවිතයේ ප්‍රශ්න කියන්නෙත් මේවටම තමයි.”

මිනිත්තු කිහිපයක් ඔලුව ඇතුලෙ තිබ්බහම දරාගන්න පුළුවන් වගේ. ඒවා තවකල් ඔලුව ඇතුළේ තියන් උන්නහම ඇදුම් දෙන්න ගන්නවා. තවත් කල් තියන්න ඉන්නකොට ඔබට අංශබාගෙට එනවා. මුකුත්ම කර ගන්න බැරි වෙනවා.

ඔබගේ ජීවිතයේ අභියෝග (ප්‍රශ්න) ගැන හිතන එක වැදගත්. ඒත් ඊට වඩා වැදගත් දිනය අවසානයේ නින්දට යන විට ඔබ ඒ දේවල් බිමින් තියෙන එක. එවිට ඔබ උදයේ නැගිටින විට ප්‍රබෝධමත්ව සිට දිනයේ පැමිණෙන සියළු අභියෝගවලට මුහුණ දීමට ඔබට ශක්තිය ලැබේවි.
