සුළු වෙනසක්, විශාල බලපෑමක්: වැඩිහිටි ජනතාවට ආරක්ෂිත සහාය

 

වැඩිහිටි කෙනෙක් වාරු නැතිව ඇද වැටුනොත් උකුල් හන්දි බිදී එක්තැන් වෙන අවස්ථා අපි ඕනේ තරම් දැක තිබෙනවා. එය කොයි මොහොතක වෙනවාදැයි අපිට කියන්න බෑ.

මම ඉන්දුනීසියාවේ ගුවන් තොටුපළේ නානකාමරවල ඇති සහාය දෙන handrail දැක්කා. සුළු වෙනසක් වුවත්, එහි බලපෑම විශාලයි—වයසකළ අයට නානකාමරය තනිව, ආරක්ෂිතව භාවිතා කිරීමට හැකිවන ආකාරයට සහාය දෙන handrail. මේ කාර්යක්ෂම, නිර්මාණාත්මක සිතුවිල්ලක් වන්නේ කුමක්ද!

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේද මෙවැනි දේක අපි කරන්න පුළුවන්ද? මෙම ආකාරයේ සරල නිර්මාණාත්මක අදහස් අපගේ වැඩිහිටි ජනතාවට පහසුකම සහ ගෞරවය සපයමින් විශාල වෙනසක් ගෙන එයි.

I noticed these supportive handrails in the toilets at an airport in Indonesia. A small change, yet the impact is tremendous—handrails that allow elderly people to use the restroom safely and independently. What a brilliant example of thoughtful, creative design!

Could we implement something like this in Sri Lanka? Simple, low-cost ideas like this can make a big difference in accessibility and dignity for our elderly population.
